QUALICOAT UK & Ireland Teams Up With AMS For Advanced Technician Training
Last month, technicians gathered at Architectural & Metal Systems (AMS) in Wallingstown, Co. Cork, for a hands-on QUALICOAT Advanced Technician training session to refresh their knowledge on aluminium coating and defect identification. As the QUALICOAT Specifications require all coaters to have at least one technician trained every two years, this session provided a vital local opportunity for Irish members to maintain the prestigious quality label.
Reflecting on the training event, Adam McCarthy, Laboratory and Installation Manager for AMS, said:
“It was a privilege to host the Advanced Technician training on behalf of QUALICOAT UK & Ireland and a pleasure to have Oliver [Bögler, Head of Inspections at IFO Institute of Surface Technology] and Jim [Regan, Managing Director for EMEA at Q-Lab Europe Ltd] advancing our knowledge and sharing their respective expertise. These sessions are always worthwhile – it’s a welcome opportunity to refresh and re-engage with all aspects of aluminium, not just powder coating.”
The QUALICOAT Advanced Technician training helps member representatives (technicians) identify defects and provides a deeper understanding of everyday products – what to consider and how to handle those products before and after they leave the facility, and how effective cleaning can extend a product’s lifespan and revive a product dulled by exposure. It’s a practical session with real world examples.
Each successful candidate receives a Certificate of Attendance.
