QUALICOAT UK & Ireland Heads to Cork for Pivotal Council Meeting
This month, QUALICOAT UK & Ireland members will gather in the Council Chamber of Cork’s City Hall for the organisation’s second council meeting of the year. The choice of venue reflects the growing prestige and importance of the architectural aluminium industry today.
The prestigious City Hall, Cork - the venue for the next QUALICOAT UK & Ireland Council Meeting
This meeting is the first since the organisation announced its move to a new Secretariat, the Council for Aluminium in Buildings (CAB). During this period of transition, member communication is a priority, and the session presents an opportunity to share the latest updates, including an introduction by CAB, CEO, Nigel Headford.
Civic welcome
The council meeting is preceded by a welcome dinner at the Metropole Hotel on 19th May - hosted by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Fergal Dennehy. The Lord Mayor will also welcome attendees to the council meeting and, in a rare opportunity, has invited delegates to tour The Lord Mayor’s Chamber – one of the finest examples of Classical architecture in Ireland.
Technical excellence
Highlights of the upcoming session include technical updates – with reports from the Technical Committee and QUALICOAT Zürich, training updates from Oliver Bögler of the IFO (Institute of Surface Technology), and topics relating to operational growth such as marketing, CPDs, exhibitions and membership.
Local training opportunity
To coincide with the Cork visit, QUALICOAT UK & Ireland is hosting an additional technician training event on 19th May at Architectural & Metal Systems (AMS) in Wallingstown, Co. Cork.
As the QUALICOAT Specifications require all coaters to have at least one technician trained every two years, this session provides a vital local opportunity for Irish members to maintain the prestigious quality label. Further training sessions are also scheduled for 10th and 11th June at Bragborough Hall Business Centre in Daventry.
For the full agenda and to register, QUALICOAT UK & Ireland members can contact Jan Lukaszewski.
