QUALICOAT recognise that training Laboratory Technicians is essential to ensure that quality is achieved and maintained in the application of architectural powder coating. Proper training equips Laboratory Technicians with the skills to operate equipment accurately, follow standard operating procedures laid down in the QUALICOAT Specification and adhere to safety and quality guidelines that are also in the latest version.

Licensed applicator members of QUALICOAT are required to have an operational testing laboratory with calibrated equipment within their premises. The purpose is to continuously test finishes, and also monitor and record the status of the working coating line which includes pre-treatment and powder coating processes. The QUALICOAT Specification clearly states at what parameters the coating line should run to achieve a finish which can be claimed to meet the QUALICOAT label.

This year QUALICOAT UK & Ireland are holding training sessions on two consecutive days. The first day will be aimed at new Laboratory Technicians and new members joining the Association. The second day will be aimed at existing members or returning Laboratory Technicians where the focus will be on developing their skills and seeking feedback for the Association to review and amend methodology to further improve finish sustainability.
