QUALICOAT Reacts to Covid-19

‚Äč

Unprecedented times. Industry across the globe has been forced to take precautionary measures to halt the speed of the virus infection and in many cases companies have simply closed down to ride out the storm.

Powder coating is an essential part of the construction industry supply chain. In England the government has advised that sites are to keep working. QUALICOAT members have re-evaluated their working practices in line with government guidelines and will continue to support construction.

One member has been busy coating profiles for the urgently needed Nightingale hospitals, another is coating profiles for key NHS projects in Scotland.

Technical support from the QUALICOAT UK & Ireland association is still available as the team is now remotely working and can be contacted through the website email address.

QUALICOAT UK & Ireland are still running their RIBA approved CPD via on-line conferencing software. Should any specifiers wish to use their lockdown time to undertake the CPD more information can be found on the associations website.

Licensing inspections of members is on hold as some businesses will be closed, but it is expected that this will quickly begin again once business comes back on-line and more frequent movement of inspectors is granted.

The sixteenth edition of the QUALICOAT Standard, is available through the UK Association website, www.qualicoatuki.org together with an up-to-date list of licensed Powder Suppliers, Pretreatment Suppliers and Applicators.  Printed literature and telephone support is available from QUALICOAT UK & Ireland Head Office in Birmingham on 0330 236 2800 or email enquiries@qualicoatuki.org.  The Association can also be followed on Twitter @Qualicoatuki
