Another Systems Company Joins QUALICOAT

QUALICOAT UK & Ireland membership are delighted to welcome Exlabesa Extrusions Doncaster into membership of the Association.  Exlabesa Extrusions have demonstrated that they have stringent methodologies in place for the coating and monitoring of finish quality that meet and exceed the specifications laid down in the fifteenth edition of the QUALICOAT Standard.

Exlabesa Extrusions have demonstrated to the independent inspection body, IFO GmbH of the Netherlands, QUALICOAT UK and Ireland’s chosen independent inspectorate, that they have the correct quality of plant hardware and that they have the correct processes in place.  These inspections are undertaken at random and full compliance must be achieved before a licence can be applied for from QUALICOAT Secretariat in Zurich.  Exlabesa Extrusions Doncaster have now been awarded licence number 1024.  In order to maintain their licence, in accordance with the QUALICOAT standard, every year Exlabesa must pass a further two unannounced inspections by IFO GmbH which show they are maintaining the high specification required by QUALICOAT.

Exlabesa Extrusions Doncaster are now the fifth UK systems company to seek and gain approval to coat to the QUALICOAT standard, other systems companies in the UK and overseas who do not coat in-house, mostly offer QUALICOAT approved finishes, however, it is always worthwhile to ensure specifications for both ordering of architectural profiles and building project specifications include the statement ‘Powder coating to comply with the fifteenth edition of the QUALICOAT specification’.

The Zurich based QUALICOAT Secretariat ensures this quality label is applied consistently across the globe.  Whether the contracts are specified in the UK, China, Germany or Australia, if QUALICOAT is part of the specification it will be understood and applied consistently.

Copies of the fifteenth edition of the QUALICOAT Standard, complete with amendments and updates, is freely available through the UK Association website, www.qualicoatuki.org together with an up-to-date list of Powder Suppliers, Pretreatment Suppliers and Applicators.  Printed literature and telephone support is available from QUALICOAT UK & Ireland Head Office in Birmingham on 0121 601 6746.  The Association can also be followed on Twitter at @Qualicoat.
